Touch2Unlock app for iPhone and iPad

Were you ever in such a hurry and typed in the wrong password time after time? Or that you accidently had your caps lock on without even noticing it? The introduction of the TouchID on iPhone 5S really simplified the way we could unlock our i-device in a fast but yet safe way. What if we could extend that functionality to your Mac? That’s what Touch2Unlock is all about!

Whenever your iPhone detects your Mac, it will allow you to use your TouchID to unlock your Mac.
When you lock your Mac, an interactive notification will appear on your iPhone. If you wish to unlock your Mac, just swipe the notification to the right and click the ‘Unlock’ button. This will activate the TouchID sensor which allows you to unlock your Mac quickly and in a safe way. And now we have also built-support for the Apple Watch. With a click on a button you can now unlock your Mac when your iPhone is out of reach.

Besides the IOS application, which is compatible as of the iPhone 5S and above, you will also need a Mac application. Please go to http://www.touch2unlock.com and download it here for free.

For the moment Touch2Unlock is only available on IOS 8 or 9 for the iPhone 5S / 6 / 6 Plus and any Mac with Bluetooth LE running Mac OS X Yosemite or El Capitan.

IMPORTANT: Even though the application make us of iBeacons, it still requires the use of GPS in background mode. This ensures that the application can still function will completely closed. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. This setting can of course be turned off but this would require the app to be open in the background.
